Oversees the administration of public health services, home health and hospice services, responsible for preventing epidemics and the spread of disease, protecting against environmental hazards and injuries, promoting and encouraging healthy behaviors and responding to disasters and assisting communities in recovery. Services include birth certificates, death related records/permits, student health programs, lead testing, tap water testing, lead information, public facility health inspection, public health nursing, babysitting instruction, child care provider training, farm safety education, child passenger safety education, blood pressure screening, cholesterol/triglycerides test, diabetes screening, HIV testing, sexually transmitted disease screening, sickle cell screening, tuberculosis screening, blood tests, newborn screening, alerting devices, chronic disease self management, CPR Instruction, General Health Education, Nutrition Education, Pregnancy Testing, Prenatal care, community clinics, home health aide services, hospice facilities, immunizations, flu vaccines, Medicaid applications, WIC, case/care management, support groups, counseling, mental health information/education, sewer system maintenance, terrorism preparedness information and emergency preparedness
